What are the advantages of an asphalt driveway?

Installing a new driveway is a costly endeavor regardless of your chosen material. In most cases, an asphalt driveway in Denver is a great choice.

Costs

Asphalt costs half as much as a concrete driveway to install. The larger your driveway, the larger the price difference. Laying asphalt is not nearly as labor-intensive as pouring concrete. Once a paver is setup and running, the cost per square foot starts to decrease for every square foot laid.

20-30 Years Life Span

The great thing about asphalt is it is designed to be flexible. With proper driveway sealcoating, the flexibility will last your driveway's entire life.

Environmentally Friendly

Asphalt is the most recycled product in the United States. On average, over 36 million tons of asphalt is recycled. Additionally, new asphalt products with recycled plastics are on the horizon.

Driveway Paving

When it comes to driveway paving, there are a couple of options you have and this depends on your current asphalt condition. Please get in touch with us for a free site evaluation, and we can provide you with the best options.

New Driveway Installation

This one is straightforward. If you don't have an existing driveway or need to replace a gravel or concrete driveway, this is your option. Below is the process we follow to provide you with a great result.

Site Grading & Preparation – We remove any existing materials and then grade the driveway considering the drainage, traffic and existing landscaping items.

Base – Depending on soil conditions, we install 6" -8" Class 6 Road base material. This is compacted as the material is added.

Asphalt Paving- We will lay approximately 3.75" hot asphalt and compact it with rollers to a finished depth of roughly 3".

Replacement

If you have an existing asphalt driveway and the base is in good condition than you can have a new driveway in no time. We remove the existing asphalt. With our equipment, the asphalt peels right off the base. Once the asphalt is removed, we inspect and fix any issues with the base. Finally, we lay the asphalt and roll it to a smooth finish.

Asphalt driveway frequently asked questions

You have questions, and we have answers. After 30 years of paving, we have been asked a lot of questions, below is a list of the more common questions we receive. If you have questions that aren't listed here, please don't hesitate to call us, and we will be more than happy to help.

How long does it take to install a driveway?

Every drive is different, and so there is no set answer. Broadly speaking a replacement driveway will take 1-2 days unless there is extensive damage to the base. A new installation will take longer depending on the subsoils and if they are saturated with water.

How long will my driveway last?

Driveways in Denver can last 20-30 years if you follow a proper maintenance schedule. If there is only light traffic and no trees nearby, your driveway will last closer to 30 years.

How much does it cost to pave a driveway in Denver?

Sorry, but there is no easy answer to this question. As mentioned before, everyone's driveway is unique and requires a custom plan to install a driveway that will last. We do provide free no obligation estimate.
