Steps in pouring a new concrete driveway

  1. Remove existing driveway (if needed)
  2. Grade to ensure proper water runoff
  3. Install and compact Class 6 Road Base
  4. Install forms and pour concrete.

Depending on the size and condition of your driveway, we can install a new driveway in 1-2 days, and once the concrete is cured (3-5 days), you will have excellent looking driveway ready to service you for many years.

Concrete Driveway Repair

A Denver driveway often faces a number of difficulties. Some are under your control, and others are impossible to deal with. Cracks are the most common issue with any concrete surface, old or new. There are many reasons why your driveway may develop cracks: tree roots, improper installation, settling or shifting of the soils and excessive weight loads, just to name a few.

If the damage to your driveway is limited, we can often repair just the sections of your driveway. We will make cuts at the control joints and remove the existing concrete. If there are any issues with the subbase we will fix those and then pour new concrete.

Common Questions

How Much Does It Cost to Install A Concrete Driveway?

This is the most common question homeowners ask us. Unfortunately, there is simply no easy answer. The cost can vary wildly based on the amount of prep work we have to do. Please call us for a no-obligation estimate. Concrete driveways fall in the middle of the cost spectrum. Gravel or recycled asphalt is the cheapest driveway material, followed by asphalt driveways. A standard grey concrete driveway will be more than asphalt but less than a stamped/decorative driveway. The most expensive driveway material is pavers.

How Long Will a Concrete Driveway Last in Denver?

Assuming that the driveway was installed correctly, your driveway should last at least 30 years. However, large loads (dump trucks, trash trucks etc.) can cause issues if your driveway was not designed for these loads. Also, tree roots can cause slabs to shift, rise and crack. When planting a tree, consider how large that tree will be in 15-20 years.

Is A Concrete Driveway Low Maintenance?

Yes, unlike asphalt, which needs to be seal coated every three years, concrete is virtually no maintenance. We highly recommend cleaning up any chemical spills, such as oil, or transmission fluid, because it can cause your concrete to break down faster.
